7 DIY Chic Halloween Costumes

Halloween costumes were born out of the Irish tradition of wearing disguises to fool evil spirits. That means costumes should be uncharacteristic enough that you are unrecognizable. Thinking of your costume in these terms provides more of an opportunity for you to reflect on who you are or who you want to be. 

A “chic” Halloween costume is made up from pieces you already have in your closet or could wear outside of Halloween. For instance, if you wanted to be a chic Little Red Riding Hood, then a long red coat and tall black boots would be investment pieces, to be worn again and again.
